The Bonita Springs Concert Band opens its fourth season on
Sunday, November 6, in the Band Shell at Riverside Park on Old 41.
Conductor, Dr. Dennis Hill, is dedicating the program in memory of Skip Perry, former band director at Three Oaks Middle School in Estero and a trumpet player in the band. The Willie Milton “Skip” Perry Jr. memorial plaque will be presented to his school.
In honor of Veteran’s Day, the band salutes the military, past and present, playing a medley titled The Homefront: Musical Memories From World War II, as well as Who’s Who In Navy Blue, America Triumphant March, The High School Cadets, Spirit Of The Corps and the Armed Forces Salute.
The trombone section will wow you with Shoutin’ Liza Trombone, and Robert Thurston, Euphonium player, will play Canzonetta for Euphonium and Band. Clap to the beat of Classic Duke, a Duke Ellington medley which includes Cotton Tail, Sophisticated Lady and It Don’t Mean A Thing. Granada and English Folk Song Suite round out the program.
