The next concert by the Bonita Springs Concert Band will be Sunday, January 20, 2:00 p.m., at Riverside Park in downtown Old Bonita. Guest soloist will be Carolann Sanita singing “I Dreamed a Dream.” Carolann has toured as Marian in the first national tour of the Music Man and internationally as Maria in the European and Asian tours of West Side Story. She will also sing “Someone to Watch Over Me.” She has performed with the Bonita Springs Concert Band in the past and has been a big hit. You won’t want to miss her talent.
The band will also perform music from Pop and Rock Legends: Chicago. There will be music from Oliver, Star Trek and selections from the genius of Ray Charles.
The more than 80 band members are under the direction of Gary Smith, who retired after 24 years as conductor of the University of Illinois Marching Illini Band. Gary says “the talent of these musicians is tremendous, ranging in age from 15 to 90.”
The Bonita Lions Club will again be collecting used eye glasses and hearing aids to be repurposed in the community.
Become a “Friend of the Band” for just $50. Tickets for $10 for our March 31 indoor concert at Estero High School will also be available.
