The final concert of the season by the Bonita Springs Concert Band will be Sunday, April 14, 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Riverside Park in downtown Old Bonita. The excitement of the band has been outstanding this season.
The 90 band members are under the direction of Gary Smith, who retired after 24 years as conductor of the University of Illinois Marching Illini Band. Gary says, “The talent of these musicians is tremendous, ranging in age from 15 to 90.”
Mike Davis, who performed with the band in November, will be back to narrate “The Greatest Generation”. Davis headed all musical productions at Disney World and then Disney International. He will also sing “God Bless the U.S.A.” and conduct “The Lion King”.
Amy Bright will sing “I’ve Heard That Song Before” and Nikola Vukovic will play “Classical Gas” on guitar.
The band will perform “The Falls”, “Circus Days”, “Arlington” and many more.
Join the band for another exciting performance. Bring your lawn chair and a friend.
